Situated on 20 acres, the Mango Grove Resort is a small eco resort of only 3 bungalows with 8 beautifully appointed rooms. All with an incredible view of limestone cliffs, mountains and jungle from large, teak decks.
10 old teak houses, purchased in Thailand's northern provinces, were disassembled and transported to a mango grove where the indigenous hardwoods (mainly teak and rosewood) from the old houses were used to construct the bungalows and rooms.
In harmony with the environment and ecology, the architecture is of the ancient Lanna Thai style. The bungalows were built on 10' pillars, have terraced, terracotta roofs and large covered teak decks.
The rooms have teak or rosewood floors, walls and 12' high ceilings with attached Casablanca style fans. The handcrafted teak furniture, doors, windows, and screens were custom made utilizing the wood from old houses. The sealy mattresses, 100% cotton sheets and handmade hilltribe quilts, all compliment the room's unique flavour of northern Thailand.
The tastefully appointed washrooms contain all the amenities including hot water showers and earthen water jugs for Thai style bathing.
Downstairs, each bungalow has a full sized refrigerator, water cooler and hammocks.
Relaxing on the deck or in a hammock, enjoy the beauty of the trees and flowers which were planted for both a mixture of brilliant colours and fragrant aromas.
